Spontaneous Combustion.

Days, months, years passed as the spark inside her grew into a ravenous and raging fire that consumed her every waking moment, drinking her oxygen from her lungs, crippling her body, and filling her mind with smoke. She burned, and everyone knew it. But they all agreed, “There is nothing you can do for someone once they ignite”. She was alone in her destruction. The fire had made her broken ashes in the wind, a girl who should have been saved, a girl who could have been saved.

  1. Reminds me of a story I read in Zoetrope, A Case Studies in Ascension. About people that ascend literally. I’m still figuring out the figuratively of the story. But it is excellent… I ignited back in 2013. I’m all black and blank now…

  3. Very intense. Some people do “burn up,” don’t they. Too passionate for our world. Loved it.
