The Barrier that Hugged.

Did I become reliant on abandonment?

A friendly face smothered in friendlessness,

Smiling at the barrier that hugged the emptiness,

Already buried in the sunniest rays of resentment

So that when happiness collided with my ready built walls of protection,

I was fighting not to give into the promise of connection.
