What if I told you a lie?

What if I told you a lie?

It’ll begin at a rough whisper

You”ll want to hear this now

Huddle closer!

A fiction turned fixation beckoning forward

Delusion diffusing to illusion and then finally a dream

Does it taste bitter at first?

Try it again, reluctant sip then ready and heady gulp.

Soon you’ll consume it bones and all

Shedding and shredding your first skin

It might itch a bit and certainly restrict

So you’ll rebel at Midnight and have a last dance under the harvest moon,

Hours pass in a blink and dawn rinses you in heavenly orange and pink

You can live in this world now

Bathed in that rosy glow

You can’t even tell who’s blue

Certaintly not me,

And you?
