The world does not end in fire or ice
That would be far and away too nice,
Our fate finds a more cruel route
As no one hears the warning shouts,
Apocalypse lies within hope for perfection
Leading to rampant empathy rejection,
Purge the past to purge the future
To kill us all we attempt to suture.
A very insightful and powerful poem. I enjoy the art as well.

I think you are on to something here. No going out in a flame of glory. We will pass away, most of us, unnoticed. And I think that scare us, most of us, anyway.

I like the picture. Fire on the inside/ice on the outside.
